Ingredients
- •Pomfrets-4 nos, palm size
- •Onion -2
- •Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp chopped
- •For marination:
- •Tandoori masala- 4 tsp
- •Red chili powder- ½ - 1 tsp
- •Ginger-garlic paste-1 tsp
- •Beet-root juice-2-3 tsp or red food colour a few pinches (optional)
- •Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- •Ajwain- ½ tsp, crushed
- •Sesame seeds- 1 tsp
- •Besan or corn flour -2 tsp
- •Oil- 2 tsp
- •Butter-2 teaspoon
- •Salt -to taste
- •For garnish:
- •Onion rings, big green chili rings,
- •Lemon
Method
- 1Clean, wash the pomfret and make slits on it, apply a little salt and wash off after 5-7minutes
- 2Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl
- 3Pat dry the washed pomfret and apply the marinade well, keep aside
- 4In a flat non-stick pan, add the oil and the chopped onion, saute for a minute, add half of the coriander leaves, saute
- 5Place the marinated fish over the sauted onions gently, add the butter, after 2 minutes turn over the side
- 6Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes till done, add a dash of lime before serving
- 7Serve garnished with onion rings, coriander leaves, and sauted chili rings
