Ingredients
- •Raw Banana - 4, nos
- •Onion -1 medium, chopped, (optional)
- •Spouted small black chana - ½ cup, boiled
- •Coconut - ¼ cup scraped
- •Sesame seeds -1 teaspoon
- •Mustard seeds - ½ teaspoon
- •Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
- •Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon
- •Sambar powder - 3-4 teaspoons( May use podi chutney)
- •Dry red chilies - 2 broken
- •Green chili-2, chopped
- •Curry leaves - 9-10 nos
- •Hing - a few pinches
- •Tamarind paste - 2 teaspoon, or to taste
- •Jaggery - 1 teaspoon, or to taste
- •Oil - 1 tablespoon
- •Coconut oil - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Method
- 1Peel and cut raw banana into medium sized cubes
- 2Boil the cubed raw banana till just done in salted water adding a pinch of turmeric powder and a few drops of coconut oil, do not over cook
- 3Drain the banana and keep aside
- 4Heat oil in a non- stick kadhai
- 5Add mustard seeds, after they crackle add urad dal, curry leaves, sesame seeds, dry red chilies and hing
- 6Add the onion, chopped green chili sauté till translucent
- 7Add the boiled brown chana, stir, add haldi powder, sambar powder, mix

Chef's Notes
Minerals like magnesium and potassium are abundant in Black chana.
Coconut is a good source of fibre and MCTs, whereas raw bananas are high in fibre.
